CHRISTMAS TIME IN ARUSHA--12/26/2011
First of all, it was so awesome to talk to you all... Second of all i gave some assignments that i would like filled. 1st: Meg picture of your car, and remember to send those songs. 2nd: Ty ash kim mike dane jess and everyone I need pictures of kangas and monkey faces. 3rd: Dad dvd you made 4th: To play a game, here is the game it is like 4 questions
1. What makes you happy?
2. What makes you sad?
3. What makes you angry?
4. What makes you glad?
Meg you can't answer when grandma died. Not even once. Haha anyway let me tell you about my christmas. 1st of all i got off the phone with you and went to church. as the missionaries we had been preparing a musical number, "With Wondering Awe". By now i should be hearing gasps from the audience, because we all know that i don't sing. But i agreed to do it, so we did it. Well right before as we had been singing some other songs as the congregation, i was coughing a lot (I got one of those colds that leaves you with a cough forever, although it is finally starting to move out) So i didn't know if i could sing. But anyway it was our turn and we went up and sang and it sounded better that it ever has and me and munatsi hit the high note, on all four verses. I must say we all got complemented highly. Not bragging, but who knew we could sing. It was a Christmas miracle. I fear that was a once in a lifetime voice and i will never be able to do it again. But man i actually enjoyed singing... (Another Christmas miracle) And that song has become one of my favorite christmas songs. So mom you win... i have learned to like singing at least a good bit more that at home. After that we went to the rydalchs. It was just the 4 missionaries and the rydalchs and one other guy his name is risa, his family is in dar so he would have been alone so we invited him. So we started and watched the dvd of the mission, which i helped create in my 3 weeks of nairobi. I chose all the music. Anyway then we ate heavenly food! Mashed potatoes roast beef breadsticks (Which i made) fresh pinaple and mango (I wasn't even close with the spelling of pineapple there) Samosas (Indian food) Gravy, and later apple pie with ice cream... heavenly. We did a gift exchange, i gave a tie, and also recieved a tie. And we had a devotional that i was kind of in charge of preparing. So i prepared it. We shared the story of the birth of Jesus, and then i had elder Munatsi and the Rydalches share there favorite holiday experiences in there lives. So they did and then i talked about how our holiday memories are not of the presents we get or stuff like that but the things we remember are being with the ones we love and the feelings of love and happiness in the home. And i talked about how us as missionaries as we prepare to have our own families need to create traditions of love and charity for our future families so our kids know what brings real happiness. It was pretty cool i realized how good my parents did, with that little service game we played every year. And doing the twelvedays of christmas. Anyway it was a sweet day. Then we went home, and everone else talked to their parents, and i just pretty much chilled. But it was so good to talk to you. This is like one of the longest emails i have sent in forever so who would have known the day after we talk i would have so much to say. But i love you all wish we could have talked longer but it won't be long till i'm hangin up the tag, and We talk face to face.
Loveyou all
